Philips 42PFL6188S: A complete TV

Philips unveiled their new TV Philips 42PFL6188S 3D smart TV. The two-sided XL TV comes ready to fill your room with coloured lightning. No other company have an answer to Philips 42PFL6188S in mid-range TV’s.

It's having some special features. One of them is the Miracast mobile screen mirroring. Connectivity too in the TV is carrying a lot of features. The company offers the TV in four screen size options- the 32-inch Philips 32PFL6188S, 47-inch Philips 47PFL6188S and the cinema-sized 55-inch Philips 55PFL6188S. Let’s now look at its specs and features.

Features
Ambilight  is one of the main features of the TV. The Philips 42PFL6188S Smart TV is an internet TV. Many streaming services are available in the TV, but primarily only some such as iPlayer, YouTube, Blinkbox, Viewster, and iConcerts are available. A remote is supplied with the set for navigating these features. The remote supplied is flappable, with a QWERTY keyboard on the reverse.  Almost all codecs are playable in the TV. Multimedia files are supported via both local USB and LAN.

Design
As we see in every TV, this device is also having a simple ‘TV design’. Simple and unstated, Philips makes its best in the design section in this set. I’m sure that you will never hate the edge-to-edge screen and minimal picture border. The TV is also having a mood lightning feature, but it doesn’t impact in depth highly.

You are permitted to use the Ambilight either dynamically, reflecting hues from onscreen content, or as fixed illumination, coloured red, blue or green.

Specs
The device is having many connectivity features such as four HDMI components, digital audio optical out, Scart via an adaptor, Ethernet plus a trio of USB inputs etc. The set comes with integrated Wi-Fi with Miracast streaming. The company also provides a feature to choose either a DVB- S2 satellite or a Freeview HD tuner.

Performance
All the Philips TV’s up to now are very complicated in set up, and the new 42PFL6188S is also not different. The main GUI of the TV is relatively intuitive. The picture menu of the TV offers head-scratching multiplicity, which is placed under the Pixel Precise HD banner.

If you need a perfect level of motion clarity, you need to know how to enable Perfect Natural Motion. The available primary settings in the set contribute motion artefacts. With detailed retaining in shadows, black level performance is suitably nourished.

The Philips 42PFL6188S is a kind of goggle-box for you, if you like to preternaturally crisp Full HD images. The device has a 2 x 12W sound system, which is not so shot on punchy middle-bass.

AfterWords
There are many things in the device, which make you to love it. The screen of the device is very good and nice-looking, although it's not without its foibles. As the manufacturer is Philips the build quality is superb. The TV feels do substantial, as the bezel is fashionably narrow. There are some defects for the TV, but that is forgivable, like the short- changed Smart portal. The illumination of the Ambilight is so attractive joyful.

Philips has done something great by simplifying UI and Spartan EPG, and that is something difficult to ignore. You will have to take some bigger effort to get the best image from the panel; the set is blessed with a decent black level performance and extremely crisp detail. The Philips 42PFL6188S costs £1,000 and is now available in markets. Totally the set is worth the money we spend.

Lytro light field: A Revolutionary Device

Digital Camera’s has been an essential for people for the past 10 years. What about other camera’s like the Lytro light field camera? It doesn’t look so beautiful, but it is a revolutionary device in technology. It comes with a cubic frame. It doesn’t look as beautiful as other cameras. But it is capable to do what other cameras can’t.

Camera is meant for taking pictures; this will be changed to ‘beautiful’ when it is in the hands of photographers or families. But does the use end here? No, will be the answer by a journalist if we askers him/her this question. Here is the use of cameras like Lytro.

Lytro light field camera is now available in UK with 8GB and 16GB, priced £399 and £469 respectively. The light field technology used in the camera captures the direction of incoming light rays as well as their colour and intensity, allowing you to refocus images after they’ve been shot, on its touchscreen or online. Let’s now look at its specs and features.

Design
The solid, small, beautiful, the aluminium-clad Lytro device is a craze to hold. But this this will not happen if you use. The 24g weighting device is very comfortable to hold in hands. A very responsive shutter, an invisible touch-sensitive zoom slider, and a rubber grip suggest one-handed operation, but this requires trumpet-playing levels of manual dexterity.

Here is a view of how it looks when we look through the device.

The Lytro is available in three metallic colours-grey, blue and red. A design that is similar to Apple device is adopted here. As said above the Lytro is available in two versions, one of 8GB and another of 16GB.You will also get a USB cable for both charging and data.

Features
A sad thing in the new light field camera has stripped photo features which has been traditional to minimum. The device has a creative mode which allows you to a full zoom- 8x or a 3.5 which is limited. Don’t expect more on such a camera, because it worries if you expect something more. We don’t have any control over colour or sensitivity, and lightning. The resolution is only 128 x 128, which we can understand in the first look itself. Taking lining up shots in the device can be tricky as it washes out in bright light.

Uploading
The Lytro also has setup for uploading images. Lytro shows its Apple love once again as it will not work with Windows, we can hope a Windows version soon as the company announced a windows version in this week itself. If you need to take and upload a picture it took around 10 seconds each. This is very fast when you compare to Facebook apps or mobiles.  When you have more it will be uploaded very quickly. The Mac software used in it is very user-friendly but it’s basic.

At present the Lytro light field camera is having options only to share via Lytro’s website, Facebook and twitter. The device also has a great option, which allow your friends to refocus a picture clicking anywhere in the picture. Another offer from the company is a free upgrade to create eerie parallax 3D images from existing Lytro files.

Image quality
A the device captures intensity as well as the direction of each light ray, its 11MP sensor outputs only a JPEG image of just 1.2MP. This look very lovely in the device but when you transfer the picture to any other device it’s hard to make good prints.

The images taken in the device is soft and prone to blowing out highlights. An important think you need to remember is that the device has no video mode or flash. One plus point is that refocusing is very outstanding. Especially, if your picture is having distinct backgrounds and foregrounds.

AfterWords
Lytro is just an amazing gadget; we need to love it like how Real Madrid fans like Ronaldinho.  It looks fantabulous and awesome. The cute lovely look of the device makes everybody say ‘I like it’. The light field technology will be a remark for Lytro forever, and it is about to change what we think about photography soon.

Although there are many features like refocusing a taken image, it also lacks some important features for a camera like the power, flexibility and resolution, as it has a small screen. As the Lytro will arrive soon in the market, it will be good if you wait for the 2.0 version to arrive. The device is now available in US and it costs $400.

Nokia Lumia 1020 PureView : The Giant Phone with 41MP camera

Last afternoon’s Nokia’s announcement was not a surprise to nobody, as they officially announced their new smartphone Lumia 1020, which comes with a revolutionary 41MP camera.

The highlight of the phone is the 41MP camera, with 6 lenses as mentioned above, the camera comes with a PureView sensor. Everybody was ready for the announcement, because of the leaked revealing news earlier that day.

The combination of PureView sensor and 6 lenses camera makes everybody a professional photographer. The PureView sensor and the 7 pixels in one in a process called oversampling. This oversampling causes you to get plenty of details even when zoomed in.

The Nokia Lumia 1020 also shoots 1080p videos and it also has a xenon flash and LED light for shooting in low-light conditions. One of the other features of the camera is that it can take pictures in different focus from a photo that had taken. It also has a HD front camera with 1.2 MP wide angle.

The Nokia Lumia 1020 PureView sports a new Nokia Pro Camera application, instead of the normal camera application in Nokia phones. Through the dual-capture option you can capture a single photo in two different resolutions in same time, one photo of 38MP which is the original and other photo of 5MP for uploading in Social networks.

The optical image stabilisation prevents the phones from shaking, and its good news for those who are having shaky hands. This option will be automatically got on, on the time of video capturing. Nokia says it’s the system of ball-bearings and motors to keep stability when it got moving.

Exposure, focus, white balance Backside-illuminated image sensor , High resolution zoom 3x, Autofocus, Nokia Pro Camera mode and Nokia Smart Camera Mode. Are the other features which the camera sports. As I said above it will make everybody a professional photographer, and the trusty auto settings that will optimise the performance for the clearest picture also help you in being that.

The Lumia 1020 has adopted its square shape chassis from its older Lumia versions.  The Lumia 1020 comes with a 4.5-inch AMOLED HD+ display, and with a resolution of1, 280 x 768 resolutions. Sculpted glass Gorilla Glass 3, PureMotion HD+ ClearBlack, High Brightness Mode, Sunlight readability, super sensitive touch for nail and glove usage, are also the features of the screen. The device has a 1.5 GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor and works with Windows 8.

The phone has a 2GB of RAM and a 32GB internal storage. A SkyDrive cloud storage of 7GB is also offered with this ‘Windows’ phone. The connectivity options in the phone are USB 2.0, Bluetooth, BT 3.0, NFC with SIM based security, WLAN a/b/g/n, A-GPS and Glonass, and 3.5 mm audio connector.

The phone has a dimension of 130.4 x 71.4 x 10.4 mm, and it weighs 158 grams. The phone comes with a 2000 mAh battery; Wireless Charging is also supported in the phone via accessory cover. The phone’s audio setups are IHF speakers, 2 microphones, HD voice compliant, and 3.5mm AV connector.

CEO Stephen Elop, onstage at the New York launch event, was a little cagey about availability - the Lumia 1020 will launch exclusively on AT&T in the US on July 26 with a $300 asking price.

The Nokia Lumia 1020 PureView will be available in the UK later in the year. CEO said that UK will not have any shortage of the phone as they stock it. If your tastes doesn’t meet
with yellow white and black are also available.

Nokia’s two models with 41MP camera were released earlier but they didn’t get enough market. Nokia hops that the phone will sail them to the safe zone as they were a failure in the smartphone market. Nokia had taken many efforts but they didn’t get a safe market share as companies such as Samsung, Apple, Sony, and other companies rule market with low-cost phones. Nokia positions the device as a flagship model for the next generation smartphones. Nokia hopes that the new innovative technology of high megapixel camera will boost their sales, with the Windows brand, hopes their CEO Stephen Elop.

iOS 7 : A closer step towards next iPhone

The computer giant Apple unveiled their new OS; iOS 7 after 7 months of rumours and speculations. Apple CEO Tim Cook said in the introduction that iOS 7 is the biggest change to iOS since the introduction of iPhone. The iOS7 is packed with amazing new features, and a new stunning interface added Tim Cook.

If you look at the history of iOS you will understand the role of iPhone in making changes in the iOS. And the iOS7 is just another example which makes this statement true. Yes it has bought some big changes to Apple since its first arrival in 2007.

As we said, iOS7 has a flat-design, with some features taken from the older-version, we feel it awesome, when we use it, and we can feel that there are many changes from the older versions.
"We wanted to take an experience that people know very well and add to it," I’ve explains in a video shown during the keynote event. "We see iOS 7 as defining an important new direction ... and in many ways, a beginning."

Apple had one change in their software development for the mobile about six months ago, Craig Federighi was that man, and we can see the reflection of the change in the new OS also.

As mentioned above there are only very little changes adopted from the older versions, most of the software had been redesigned.

One of the major changes in the OS is that there have been the multiple pages within folders and the introduction of a today view for notification centre.

A new control centre was also introduced by Apple. This new control centre makes the control centre simpler and quicker, in most of the settings.

The introduction of the revamped multitasking interface is also a major change in the OS. This new set-up is a part of the new Control Centre. Another revolutionary change in the OS is that it doesn’t have icons; instead a preview of the screen is displayed. It is also smart enough to recognise when you use an app a lot during the day – such as Facebook – and devote more power and processing time to it to keep you updated.

There are many other small features which were introduced along with the OS. These apps and features are very useful. These include the flashlight included in the device, Airdrop etc. Airdrop allows you to share photos and files without the use of e-mail or text message.

Other small features include per app VPN, FaceTime audio, and perhaps long overdue, this helps you to block people from calling you on phone or FaceTime or via text message.

Siri also had got improvement; its sound has come almost same to humans in the new iOS. It also becomes smarter and faster- which was a must for Apple, competes with Google’s emerging apps. Siri now supports Twitter, Wikipedia and newly Bing also.

Apple has also given importance to security on the device, enabling enterprise single sign on support for those of you who used your iPhone in the workplace, and a revamp of find my iPhone that locks the device until you sign in with your Apple ID and password are some steps taken by Apple to improve security on their new OS.

By reading this you may get an average image on how the new iOS looks like. Apple had said that the software is under development at the moment and the OS will be released on the end of the year.

Google Glass : An Amazing Gadget

Google Glass, we all are hearing this name from last year onwards, now Google put an end to our wait by launching Google Glass in markets. The device is now available for developers and will be available worldwide soon. Google Glass can be said as an Android eye behind our eyes
The device can be felt very useful when you forget to take your camera. There are many other uses for the device such as checking and sending mails etc. Google Glass is a big challenge to one of the present’s famous wearable gadget Pebble smart watch and Recon Instrument’s GPS snowboarding, but Google Glass has an upper hand in this; the reason is simple because it is Google’s device. On e of the main question that Google glass raise is that, will it make us free from the difficulty of carrying smartphones. Let’s go to the specs and features of the device.

Size and Build
When viewing from left the device looks like a pair of thin metal sunglasses hanging from a metal strip. In the right side view it is a scary Borg-like implant. In any view we cannot found any mistakes in the making and its lop-sided profile. It also meant that the device won’t sit flat on a plane surface, without tilting over. One problem of the device while wearing it is that one of the sides of the device is heavier than the other. The device eights 42g, and is light enough, only unbalancing when wearing is a problem.

         Features
The in-built Bluetooth enables basic hands-free use with any smartphone. If you need to enable GPS and SMS messaging you’ll need an Android device that works on Android 4.0.3 and above versions. As we all know video capturing and taking pictures is one of the most important uses of the Google Glass, a 5MP in-built camera helps you in this work. Videos of 720p can be captured using the device. For recording your sound the device comes with a tiny mic that captures every sound in surroundings.

The device has a ‘Siri’ like voice recognition, which is seen in Apple products, this
helps you to take pictures or launch
Google searches through talks. You can
take look at all the menus in Google
Glass by taping on the touch-sensitive frame. The Glass handled British accent with no problem but some problems
were interrupted when we test with
ruder words. We think it’s against Scandinavians. There are also GPS navigation features in the Glass.

Features such as Wi-Fi 802.11b/g and Bluetooth are also enabled in the device. Storage of 12 GB of usable memory, synced with Google cloud storage. 16 GB Flash total is featured in the device. The audio section comes with a Bone Conduction Transducer.

A Bluetooth phone is enough to surf net on the Glass. But for the MyGlass companion app requires Android 4.0.3 (Ice Cream Sandwich) or higher. The MyGlass option enables GPS and SMS messaging.

                                                                   Screen
Google says the Glass’s prismatic high resolution display is equal to a 25-inch screen from eight feet away. I think it’s true but Google compares it to your mobile’s screen, if you hold it in an arm’s length- about 4 or 5 feet. If you hold the Glass in this way you are able to read 4 or 5 line menu, but you couldn’t view a webpage fully or read much of an e-mail.

The screen is little tricky too. If it’s not in the right position or if moved just half or one centimetre on your nose, much of the display couldn’t be seen that’s much of its simply faded away. Images and video looked fine in the glass if rather skimpy on detail viewed within the Google Glass itself.

Google also has setups to fit the Glass in any face such as the Adjustable nose pads and durable frame that fits any face. We also get extra nose pads in two sizes for adjustability.

                                                                Performance
In the busy environment of Google, the Glass has also some problems, if you want to access internet you need a phone that is having Wi-Fi, you need to link the glass with the phone, sometimes glass may not find your phone and it’s another trouble. But this is only for the first time, if you get connection; it’s amazing in an amazing speed, in a flash the web page appears, and taking pictures in blink of an eye.

You all will be ready to take pictures automatically with your Google Glass, like the Memoto Gadget. But the present Glass is a talk ‘n’ take device, which takes pictures as our command. You need to tell the glass to take each picture. We can hope that a Glass that takes picture as our mind says may be Google’s next innovationJ.

The battery of Google Glass is capable for one
full day of typical use. Some features,
like video calls and video recording,
are more battery intensive.
You will
get a charger and a Micro USB cable.
While there are thousands of Micro
USB chargers out there, Glass is
designed and tested with the included charger in mind. Use it and preserve long and prosperous Glass use’. These words are about the USB cable which is seen on Google Glass’s website.

          AfterWords
Google has introduced only the developer’s version, that’s limited. This version is available to developers and Silicon Valley royalty. The Glass’s consumer version will be out soon, we expect to see more great features, with more dedicated apps, for navigation and health.

The Glass now seems to be a toy, which is a
great innovation. We say this because Google CEO Larry Page takes his kid’s
video using Google Glass. The Glass
acts as a camcorder, when
you forget
to take yours.  And a tab to read mails and browse net when you forget yours and
it acts as a mobile too, with your need. One of the main features is that we no need to use our hands for use that’s its hands-free. The Glass costs
$1500, which is not too high for such as gadget.

FIFA 14 ; trying to be the best football game ever

Football fans all over the world are familiar with this name- FIFA, as in the form of football federation and the football game. Now we are focusing to the latest FIFA 14, which has been unveiled before a month. As most football seasons are coming to an end the fans will be bored, this time EA sports will release their triumph card FIFA every year. This year also there is no change for the unveiling date; just before the ending for 2012-2013 football seasons.

EA sports have officially announced most of the features of FIFA 14, but some are still hidden. FIFA 13 released in the end of 2012 was a super hit on PC, PlayStation, Xbox, Wii and smartphones. FIFA 13 also gives way to the rise of more improved first touch capabilities. The FIFA game is considered to the best football game in the world. FIFA Street inspired dribbling and new free-kick mechanics are amongst the other new features of FIFA 14.

The only rival that FIFA had to face in PC gaming is Pro Evolution Soccer(PES), but in gaming docks such as Xbox, PlayStation and Wii there are many other rivals including PES, such as the Real Football. Let’s take a look at how EA sports are going to prove FIFA 14 is the best football game in the world.

Pure Shot and real ball physics
EA sports have always tried to improve all the FIFA versions by making the game real by re-creating the unpredictability; which is the beauty of the football. FIFA 13 was almost a great success in this mechanism, but in FIFA 14 they are turning their attention on improving the shooting mechanics making opportunities in front of goal more authentic.

The Pure shoot allows players who are less talented to make shots with balance and finishing like Messi, and Ronaldo do. There is also mechanism to adjust stride and approach angle to hit powerful shots.

One of the main disabilities that we found in previous versions of FIFA is the problem when taking a free-kick, sometimes it may be too weak and go straight to the Goal keeper or powerful shots that rise in the air, and FIFA 14 comes with a mechanism called ‘real ball physics’ which solve this problem up to a limit. The ‘real ball physics’ allows you to take more accurate and low-rising shots to the goal.

Defenders get second chance
I know most of the FIFA gamers are disturbed when they don’t get another chance to defend in high difficulty levels. The FIFA 14 which comes with the ability to go back to the player and tackle him. FIFA 14 also has an improved ability in stifle attacks and make up for those miscalculated challenges when you've jumped in to early and the nippy winger is skipping past you.

New Through Ball
A new through ball feature is included in the FIFA 14, through ball which makes the attack easier, it can change a game totally, here EA sports is trying to make the troughs more perfect. Players will now be able to add curl to loft through balls making them more precise and likely to land to a teammate or in the space just in front of wingers to run onto instead of flying out for a throw-in.

World tour by scouting
Career mode is the most commonly used way of play in FIFA is career mode, in which the gamer is the manager and a whole season can be played with a club. Every year the career mode is been improving by adding more options and details; to make the gamer more satisfied.

FIFA 14 comes with an option to scout all over the world. It provides an option to play with your friends and it also provides online matches. It also has the ability to play with people all over the world using the new Global Scouting Network.

The Global Scouting Network allows you to send your team to take out their attributes about new players. There is a scouting hub which provides you the latest information from the football world and you can continue your career like in the international season. The scouting hub also serves live updates and makes reports.

Protect the Ball
I know that you may be much disturbed when the ball goes to the corner line or the through line and your player is not running towards it and the opposition gets the ball. FIFA 14 has come to make a change in this. In this it is difficult for the jockey players off the ball even when they are running with the ball. It will definitely help to curve out opportunities for the attackers.

Play with an intelligent teammate
Every one of us will be indeed of a teammate who is intelligent, and play in co-operation with us; we will not be able to get such people in every case. In FIFA 14 the defending players will mark the smarter and well-playing player in the opposition to provide better support to the midfielders and attackers.

In FIFA 14 the attackers need not go for marking the opposition attackers; this job is fully done by the defenders. EA sports have tried to reduce wrong offside calls from referees in the game. The FIFA 14 is made for attackers, you know why? It also has a mechanism to beat the offside trap by moving midfielders forward and to middle of the pitch.

Sprint speed and dribbling variables
FIFA 13 was very much improved in dribbling and tackling than the old version FIFA 12, here EA sports present a variety of dribbling methods. In this attacking players can control the ball speed when carrying the ball in full sprint speed.

More than having a tight control on the ball, it also has the ability to hold up ball for more than time in older versions. The hold-on time depends upon the power, ability and control of the player with the ball. If a player is used for defence in a whole season; we cannot expect that he will be a great success.

Skill Games
As seen in older versions of FIFA from 2012, in FIFA 14 also there is a skill game which appears in the load time of a game; which is meant to improve the shot skills and power. The skill games allow the gamer to raise their skill. FIFA 14 also introducing mini-games that you can play against your friends.
The game is available for PC, Xbox, Wii, PSP, Mobile and, PS vita
